A Firefighter, A Beautiful New Mommy, and a Sweet Baby Boy {Ashburn Lifestyle Newborn Photographer}

So, I don't think I've made it blog-official on this space, but just in case you've missed it...I'M PREGNANT!  AND IT'S A BOY!  The boy world is a completely foreign one for us having had three girls up to this point so now I am obsessed with learning all I can from my fellow boy-moms.  I especially am looking for pointers on baby boy nurseries!  Don't get me wrong, I love the gray and navy combo...but I really want something different!  I always do!  It's probably a bad thing because it's more difficult for me to find sheets, accessories, etc.  Charlotte's nursery is coral and tan and let me tell you, coral is a hard color to find girl decor for!  Anyway, I'm getting side-tracked here...

I bring up baby boy nurseries because I just LOVE the way my clients put a different twist on a boy nursery.  They used a travel theme and mixed in some safari-type items in as well.  They hung a giant world map over the diaper changing area and have the cutest hot-air balloon banner over the crib (made by Bernadette's sister, if I remember correctly!).   Of course, being a former reading specialist, I was swooning over the adorable book nook that Kevin installed.  He cut a hole into that little awkward space in the corner (we have one of those too!!) and created a built-in bookshelf.  I was in love and am definitely hinting about this to John (along with shiplap walls!!  Oh lord!!  How will he survive??).

Baby Connor was just about the best behaved little newborn I've ever photographed!  He slept like a dream the entire session and was just as happy as could be.  Even the cat, Mando, was well-behaved!  Cats aren't usually into being photographed but this one was so posable and cooperative!  I couldn't believe we were actually able to get a whole family portrait with the family cat in it as well!

Some of my favorite images (besides the diaper pics...I live for diaper pics!) were the ones that Kevin asked me to do with his fireman's uniform.  He is a volunteer fireman for Fairfax County and I was so happy to be able to get a few shots of sweet little Connor amongst his gear.  Who knows?  Maybe one day, he will fill those giant shoes!!
